THE MARKS - OF THE BEAST, OR OF GOD
By Ray Prinzing

What engravings are these upon the heart?
Distorted designs of a beastly art,
The mark of a system which mars the clod
Made in the image and likeness of God.

A snare that so cunningly turns the mind
To think the thoughts of a bestial kind,
A worldly arrangement engulfing thee
Within the meshes of futility.

Expression of character, self-willed, cold,
Portrays how this mark has taken its hold,
And that which was once beguilingly small
Will rule iron-clad o'er all in its thrall.

What engravings are these upon the heart?
Perfect designs of an heavenly art,
Mark of the Spirit, restoring the clod
Made in the image and likeness of God.

Blest overshadowing that helps the mind
Sow to the Spirit, and bring forth His kinds,
Thoughts that are lovely, and righteous, and true,
Transforming the life into all things new.

Expression of character, tender, warm,
To manifest clearly a godly form,
As the Christ within envelops the whole,
To liberate spirit, body, and soul.
